M < sup > 6 < /sup > A-mediated upregulation of HOXC10 promotes human hepatocellular carcinoma development through PTEN/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway
Discov Oncol. 2023 Sep 21;14(1):175. doi: 10.1007/s12672-023-00786-0.ABSTRACTHuman Hox genes (Homeobox) play a crucial role in embryonic development and cancer. The HOXC10 gene, a member of the HOX family, has been reported abnormally expressed in several cancers. However, the association between HOXC10 and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains to be elucidated. In the present study, tissue microarray cohort data showed that high levels of HOXC10 expression predicted a poor survival in HCC patients. Meanwhile, HOXC10 was significantly upregulated in the Huh7 cell line compared with the well differentiated cell line HepG2 ...

Comparison of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy with mFOLFOX vs. first-line systemic chemotherapy in patients with unresectable intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma
Conclusion: Our study revealed that HAIC was a safe and effective therapeutic regimen for unresectable iCCA with better intrahepatic tumor control when compared to SC. Meanwhile, patients with single tumor were more likely to benefit from HAIC than SC.PMID:37731737 | PMC:PMC10508288 | DOI:10.3389/fphar.2023.1234342

A Review on the Antimutagenic and Anticancer Effects of Cysteamine
In conclusion, regarding the high safety profile of cysteamine and the current literature data presented in this article, cysteamine might be considered as an interesting molecule for the prevention and the treatment of cancer. Further clinical studies should be performed to support these data in humans.PMID:37731680 | PMC:PMC10508993 | DOI:10.1155/2023/2419444

A Novel Scoring Model of Deubiquitination Patterns Predicts Prognosis and Immunotherapeutic Response in Hepatocellular Carcinoma
In conclusion, our study revealed the crucial role of deubiquitination patterns in shaping TME complexity and diversity. A more personalized and effective antitumour immunotherapy strategy can be developed by utilizing the DUBscore model to identify deubiquitination patterns in individual HCC patients. Our findings also highlight that BRCC3 may serve as a potential therapeutic target in HCC and a predictive marker for immunotherapeutic response.PMID:37734237 | DOI:10.1016/j.tranon.2023.101789

Upregulation of FAM134B inhibits endoplasmic reticulum stress-related degradation protein expression and promotes hepatocellular carcinogenesis
J Cell Mol Med. 2023 Sep 20. doi: 10.1111/jcmm.17964. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTEndoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress can stimulate the proliferation and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells while hindering apoptosis and immune system function, but the molecular mechanism of ER stress in HCC has yet to be fully studied. We aim to investigate the molecular mechanism by which FAM134B inhibits autophagy of HCC cells by reducing the expression of ER stress-related degradation proteins. Clinical samples were collected for this study. Normal liver cell lines HL7702 and Hep3B and Huh7 HCC cell lines were cultured. C...
